Drawing conversion
Get outside drawings into Revit, at true scale.
Two converters for the two kinds of file consultants send. Both write a DXF in inches that imports into Revit at 1:1 — correctly scaled, with line weights and text intact.
CAD Converter
Clean up a consultant’s DWG or DXF into a Revit-friendly DXF.
- Checks declared units against labelled dimensions before it scales anything
- Black and white, purged, junk and MTEXT codes stripped
- Welds linework so Revit can explode it
PDF to DXF
Turn a vector PDF sheet back into CAD — when a PDF is all you were sent.
- Reads the drawing scale off the sheet, or calibrate from a known length
- Keeps line weights, colours and text placement; text sheets stay 1:1 at 3/32″
- One page, every page, or a whole set as one DXF with a layout per sheet
Which one do I need?
| The consultant sent a .dwg or .dxf | CAD Converter — always better than going through a PDF. |
| You only have a PDF exported from CAD, Revit or Bluebeam | PDF to DXF |
| The PDF is a scan or photo of a drawing | Neither — there are no lines in a scan to recover. Ask for the CAD file. |
In Revit, always import with Import units: Inch — never Auto-Detect.
